How to write an essay correctly

The main condition for writing a good essay is that the topic is free. After all, the author will have to express his own point of view, reason and draw conclusions.

In order to structure the work logically, the first thing you need to do is to think about the essay plan. Usually it consists of separate brief theses on a given topic, which should be substantiated and supported by evidence as they are disclosed.

The only formal requirement that must be adhered to when writing an essay is the presence of a title.

Giving to creativity, it is not necessary to forget that the author’s task is to convince the audience of the legitimacy of the proposed point of view, so the reasoning should be as strong and clear as possible.

Structure essay

As noted above, the essay does not have a clear structure, but it usually does:

  • Introduction. This part should set the emotional mood, lead the reader to the issue at hand, and motivate them to read the text to the end.
  • The main part. At this stage, the author puts forward the theses, finds reasons for them, thus proving his own point of view.
  • Conclusion. Summing up what is said in the main part, the author draws a general conclusion.

If the purpose of the introduction is to interest the reader, the conclusion should give the reader an overall picture, encourage reflection or, conversely, leave no doubt as to the legitimacy or viability of the ideas expressed by the author.

Content essay

The main thing in the essay is the presence of a clearly marked author’s “I” in thinking on a given topic, the presence of a clearly expressed attitude to the issue of concern. The specific semantic content of the work of this genre is fully determined by its type. Thus, if the subject of discussion concerns history, the basis of the work may be a global understanding of the consequences of revolutions and wars or the assessment of individual significant events from the point of view of the author.

The essay on philosophy can be devoted to comparison of several conceptual schools, on literature – to criticism from non-standard positions of the well-known novel of the classic or caused a public resonance of the work of the modern author, etc.
